If you are interested in serving on our board of directors, please contact our president. Job descriptions may be found in our Policies and By-Laws. Board members attend a Bates training session in June of each year and participate in board meetings, occurring the last Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. All members are welcome to attend and earn a parent education credit for attending one meeting during the school year. Please contact our president if you would like to come so we can make sure we provide adequate seating space.

OPEN POSITION: Treasurer (Approx. 1 Hour/Week)
Are you detail-oriented and financially savvy? We’re looking for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Treasurer! This vital position oversees all banking, bookkeeping, taxes, quarterly and annual filings, and financial record keeping for our organization.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Using registration and accounting systems
  • Collecting tuition/fees and paying bills
  • Preparing the annual budget and presenting monthly financial reports
  • Collaborating on teaching agreements with the president(s) and Bates instructor
  • Serving on the scholarship committee
  • Attending Bates treasurer workshops and handling registration fees
This role takes approximately 1 hour per week and is a great way to stay involved, support our mission, and build valuable financial leadership experience.

OPEN POSITION: Parent Education Coordinator (Approx. >1 Hour/Week)
Passionate about learning and supporting fellow parents? We’re looking for a Parent Education Coordinator to lead and manage parent education activities throughout the year.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Planning and coordinating parent education meetings and events
  • Tracking parent education credits earned by families
  • Attending Bates workshops and board meetings to stay informed and connected
This role takes about 1 hour per week and is a meaningful way to empower our parent community through education and engagement.

​OPEN POSITION: Facilities Coordinator (Approx. >1 Hour/Week)

Do you enjoy organizing and keeping spaces safe and welcoming? We’re seeking a Facilities Coordinator to help maintain our classroom and play yard environments!
Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating, planning, and overseeing the monthly classroom cleaning schedule
  • Leading and managing the facilities committee
  • Handling routine maintenance of the classroom and outdoor play area
This role requires about 1 hour per week and is perfect for someone who takes pride in creating clean, functional spaces for children to learn and play.

​OPEN POSITION: Class 4 Representative (Approx. 1 Hour/Week)
Love building community and keeping everyone connected? Consider stepping into the role of Class 4 Representative—your name could go here!
Key responsibilities include:
  • Serving as the liaison between parents, teachers, and the board
  • Scheduling the monthly working parent calendar for your class
  • Participating on the sunshine committee to support families and staff
  • Assisting with fundraising efforts by organizing class baskets
  • Attending Bates workshops and board meetings
This role takes about 1 hour per week and is a great opportunity to strengthen your class community and be a voice for your fellow parents.
