Meet our teacher Nadine Mart
Hello GHCP families,
My name is Nadine Duenas, and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher at Gig Harbor Cooperative Preschool! I studied Elementary Education at the University of Wyoming and hold an AAS in Surgical Technology—because I believe learning never stops and can take many paths.
Teaching young learners is my passion. Every day, I feel honored to support children as they grow—not just academically, but socially, emotionally, and physically. I believe that children thrive in environments where they feel safe, seen, and valued. That’s why my classroom is built on play, exploration, and strong relationships.
I see each day as a new opportunity to nurture curiosity and joy. Whether we’re painting, reading, building, singing, or having little conversations, I strive to make every moment in the classroom meaningful and engaging. One of the things I love most about GHCP is the cooperative spirit. This is a place where families are involved, hands-on, and connected—and it makes such a big difference in the lives of our children. I see parents as true partners in learning, and I’m always open to collaboration, communication, and fresh ideas. Whether you're volunteering in the classroom, bringing in something special from home, or just stopping by to say hello, your presence helps make our classroom feel like a community.
Outside of the classroom, I’m married to Christine, an Assistant Principal in the South Kitsap School District. We have three amazing kids—Bella (23), Ethan (21), and Annie (17)—and two playful dogs, Zeke and Archie. In my free time, I love hiking, kayaking, and cheering on my kids in their sports. Thank you for sharing your child with me this year. I’m so excited to get to know each of you and make this year full of connection, growth, and joy!
Warmly,
Nadine Duenas
